Watch by Andreas Bertits – How is the DC Universe developing in the cinema? About it CEO Kevin Tsujihara has now spoken. He confirms that there will be no coherent universe in the future where all the films are somehow linked. But he does not rule out that one could return to this strategy again at some point.
With Man of Steel, Justice League, Aquaman and Wonder Woman a coherent DC superhero universe for the cinema was to be created. Strips to cyborg and flash as well as a sequel to Justice League were planned. But now the strategy looks different.
DC movies do not have to be related anymore
As Kevin Tsujihara, managing director of Warner Bros. explains, they have decided to simply make films that are good. Whether they fit together or not. Shazam, Wonder Woman 1984 and Aquaman 2, for example, continue to play in the well-known series, but the film does not include the Joker and the new Batman Strip.
Kevin Tsujihara believes that this is currently the best strategy for Warner Bros. However, he also says that it may well be that one returns to a contiguous DC film universe at a later date.
