According to current rumors Sony is anxious to take over the publisher Take-Two. Both companies are already in advanced talks.
Microsoft has acquired numerous studios over the past few months, with which the company wants to strengthen the Xbox Game Pass. According to current rumors, Sony will not stand by idly and plans a far more weighty takeover.
Daniel Ahmad, analyst at Niko Partners, tweets the message that Sony is in advanced talks with Take-Two Interactive. The original report is from MarketWatch.
It states that Take-Two Interactive Software’s share price rose by around five percent after it became known that Sony was “in advanced discussions at the board level” in order to acquire “Take-Two Interactive mainly in cash”.

This should not just be the takeover of the year, if the rumor comes true. Take-Two Interactive is, among other things, the parent company of Rockstar Games.
The Western epic “Red Dead Redemption 2” was last created there. The title has been delivered more than 23 million times. In two or three years could follow “GTA 6” – possibly exclusive to the PS5 ?.
In addition, Take Two has some of the most profitable IPs in the video game industry. Major brands include popular franchises such as Bioshock, WWE 2K, Borderlands, XCOM, and Civilization.
As always: Since it is a rumor and both companies have not yet commented on the possible acquisition, you should exercise the necessary skepticism.
In the past, similar rumors have been spread, which among other things said that Microsoft wants to buy the publisher EA or Apple has thrown an eye on Nintendo. None of these acquisitions were actually carried out.
