Yacht Club Games has confirmed two million copies sold by Shovel Knight. The switch version is currently selling very fast and comes despite the late release already on a market share of almost 18 percent.
Yacht Club Games has announced that “Shovel Knight” has sold more than two million copies worldwide. Most sales came from the PC version, closely followed by the 3DS counterpart. However, the recently released Nintendo Switch version of “Shovel Knight” is catching up. The PS4 version has a share of around nine percent, while the Xbox One version of “Shovel Knight” is not listed individually with a number.
Sales shares in the overview
•Windows – 24.4 percent: In the launch month, around 70,000 units were sold
•3DS – 23.9 percent
•Switch – 17.6 percent: Around 370,000 units were sold. Approximately 110,000 units were sold during the launch month and sales are faster than any other platform
•Wii U – 14.3 percent
•PlayStation 4 – 9.1 percent
•Xbox One, SIEE Cross-Buy, PS Vita, Mac and others – 10.7 percent
“Shovel Knight” was released in June 2014 for PC, 3DS and Wii U, followed by Mac in September 2014, Linux in October 2014, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita and Xbox One in April 2015, Amazon Fire TV in October 2015 and Switch in March 2017.
