The action-adventure “Sekiro: Shadows The Twice”, which will be released in a few days, could also have been released as part of the “Tenchu” series. This was confirmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki in an interview.
Next week, the action-adventure “Sekiro: Shadows The Twice” will mark the newest title from From Software. Before the developer studio with the “Dark Souls” series had reached the worldwide breakthrough, they had already created other brands such as “Armored Core” and “Tenchu”, which, however, most of the time a niche existence.
Tenchu is the role model
Now, From Software President and Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki has highlighted in a recent interview with Variety that they had thought about making “Sekiro: Shadows The Twice” part of the “Tenchu” series. So Miyazaki said in the wording:
“A lot of influence came from Tenchu. We even considered making Sekiro: Shadows The Twice part of the Tenchu series. “
However, after some time it was decided that it would be better to make the new game a brand of its own, although “Tenchu” is one of the main sources of inspiration behind the game. Although they had looked at other games and used as a reference, but had been taken especially “Tenchu” as a role model.
“Sekiro: Shadows The Twice” will be released on March 22, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
