GSC Game World is once again working on a shooter named “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2” after the first attempt was aborted several years ago. However, the title will only be launched in 2021.
GSC Game World has made the development of “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2” official without announcement of the announcement and without previous leaks. However, the company also refrained from providing any significant information about the Sequel. However, it is still certain that “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2” will not be launched until 2021. That should also mean that we will not hear much about the new project in the next year or two.
An official page for “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2” has already been published, but it does not provide any meaningful information on the upcoming game. But one thing is certain: as early as August 2011, GSC Game World announced that it would publish a sequel under the name “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2” in the following year. The project was discontinued though. In 2021 we will hopefully see the new attempt.
The original “S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl” is located in the area around the eponymous titular nuclear power plant during the Soviet era. The nuclear power plant underwent a critical meltdown in 1986, turning parts of Ukraine into a nuclear fallout. The critically acclaimed first-person shooter was released in 2007 and is considered the forerunner of the modern open-world sandboxing genre. “Shadow of Chernobyl” produced several successor titles: “S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky” in 2008 and “S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat in 2010.
