The turn-based tactical game “Phoenix Point” was postponed to June 2019. In return you can expect a more extensive game. You can see a new trailer today.
Snapshot Games is currently working on the development of the turn-based tactical game “Phoenix Point”. Participants include Julian Gollop, chief developer of “XCOM: UFO Defense” from 1994. In a recent statement, the man emphasized that “Phoenix Point” is taking longer to materialize. The launch will not take place end of 2018, but only in June 2019.
The reason given is that “Phoenix Point” will be more extensive than initially planned. And that takes time. “Phoenix Point” is a game that is comparable to “XCOM”. In it you fight against an alien threat released by a virus. The title puts you in the year 2057, when humanity is already decimated. The remnants of the population live in enclaves.
According to the official statement, 80 to 90 percent of the time is scheduled for tactical battles. In addition, operations on the world map are planned. The basic and personnel management as well as improvements and modifications are also part of “Phoenix Point”. You can even experience the whole thing – as we know since today – but only from the middle of 2019.
