According to the responsible developers of Blizzard Entertainment, internally a cross-save function for the shooter “Overwatch” is being considered. However, when this is implemented in the end, remains to be seen.
Speaking to colleagues from PCGamesN, Blizzard Entertainment’s lead designer Jeff Kaplan talked about the further development of the shooter “Overwatch”.
Among other things, he went into a possible cross-save function. With this, the developers could offer the “Overwatch” players the opportunity to transfer their progress from the PC to the consoles – or vice versa. According to Kaplan, we are dealing here with a feature that is considered internally.
Overwatch: Blizzard Entertainment via a possible cross-save feature
However, the “Overwatch” community does not seem to expect that this feature will be available in the foreseeable future. Thus, according to Kaplan, it is still unclear whether and when the work on such a function will be tackled.
Kaplan continues: “This is something we regularly discuss with our internal technology group. It is something we would like to study. But that’s a big challenge for many reasons. I will not go into all the details why that is. In my eyes, however, this is a legitimate wish that the players cherish. It’s something that the Overwatch team would like to work out. “
