In recent weeks and months, rumors about a possible hardware revision to Nintendo’s switch made the rounds.
What’s up to the corresponding rumors, is currently still in the stars. However, it is clear that Nintendo is already working behind closed doors on a new hardware. This was confirmed by Nintendo executive director Shinya Takahashi in conversation with BBC editors, explicitly referring to ongoing work on “a new system”.
Nintendo Switch: Did Nintendo’s Takahashi interpret a revision?
Takahashi: “Nintendo is constantly working on hardware, so we’ve been researching and developing, and the new project will be seen sometime in the future.” But what is hidden behind the new hardware? It is speculated that Takahasi could indeed refer to a new version of the switch or possible new peripherals here.
As the interview progresses, Nintendo teamed up with Scrum Ventures to look for start-ups who experiment with the switch, including designing new ways to use switches. In addition, the question is in the room, how Switch can be improved or extended by new features.
Recently, Nintendo repeatedly pointed out that Switch should be considered in the future with additional peripherals that allows new gaming experiences. It starts with “Nintendo Labo”.
