In a recent interview, Pete Hines once again talked about Bethesda Softwork’s efforts on the Nintendo Switch. He talked about potential projects and simultaneous publications.
With “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” and “DOOM”, Bethesda Softworks has already brought two well-known brands to the Nintendo Switch. In the not too distant future, players will also be able to enjoy a port of “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus”. In an interview with DualShockers, Bethesda’s vice president of marketing, Pete Hines, talked about the console hybrid.
He was asked if other published Bethesda games could be released for the Nintendo Switch. Hines said, “It will only depend on whether we think the game fits in technically well with the platform, and whether we think it’s something that the audience wants on the switch.”
This is the same approach as all other platforms, with Hines hoping to find a good mix. If there are already existing games that are suitable for the Nintendo Switch, you’re satisfied. Furthermore, it would be good if you can implement new games for the Nintendo Switch.
Finally, Hines was asked whether in the future, the Nintendo Switch versions will publish at the same time with other platforms. “That’s always our preference, but in the cases of Skyrim and DOOM, well, it was not possible in the case of Wolfenstein II, we needed the extra time and we would not have held back the other platforms to wait for the switch.” so Hines. Should it be possible to publish for all platforms at the same time, according to Hines, there is no reason not to do so.
