Will Gearbox Software announce a switch version of “Borderlands 2” at PAX East 2019 in Boston? A recent tweet from the company might indicate that.
Gearbox Software is represented on the PAX Prime and would like to present all sorts of news during a show. The exhibition program talks about “Updates of the developers of Borderlands, Battleborn and Brothers in Arms”. According to Gearbox Software, you can expect “revelations, exclusives and surprises”.
What the company wants to present in detail during the PAX East 2019 is not known. However, the developer sprinkles on Twitter for days clues. After the release of a first tweet, we initially speculated that we would hear about “Borderlands 3” at PAX East.
Although the final announcement of the shooter is still pending, the ongoing development is not a big secret.
It was followed by a teaser to another game, which will be presented at the fair. The corresponding Tweet by Gearbox Software, we have addressed in a previous message. It may be a new brand.
Borderlands 2 for Switch?
A few hours later, the next teaser followed. You can see a screenshot with a scene from the “Borderlands” series.
The picture was published very pixelated, but the back of Maya from “Borderlands 2” can be seen. But what does Gearbox Software want to tell us? The accompanying text simply states: “Time for another PAX game.”
“Borderlands 2” came in 2012 for the consoles of the previous generation and for the PC on the market. With the “Borderlands: The Handsome Collection” followed Remaster versions for the two consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. So far, the Remaster collection has not been released for the Nintendo Switch.
That said, the said tweet might alert Gearbox Software that PAX East is announcing either “Borderlands 2” or the “Borderlands: The Handsome Collection” for the Nintendo Switch.
Gearbox Software’s presentation is scheduled for March 28, 2019. Soon we will know more.
