Bigben Interactive is now owned by developer Cyanide. The company made itself among other things with the “Styx” and “Blood Bowl” series a name. At the takeover, around 20 million euros changed hands.
There was another takeover in the gaming industry. Bigben Interactive has bought the developer studio Cyanide and is now wholly owned by the company. This also applies to all assets and brands of the studio. Bigben Interactive had the takeover cost 24 million dolar. The purchase of Cyanide is part of the initiative to gain a stronger foothold in video games.
Cyanide brought in the past years quite well-known games on the market, which among other things stems from the “Styx” and “Blood Bowl” series. The company is currently working on “Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game” and “Werewolf The Apocalypse: The Official Video Game”. Both games will be launched via Focus Home Interactive.
Cyanide has developed more than 50 games since its founding, attempting to strike a balance between the creation of new brands (“Pro Cycling Manager”, “Styx”, “The Council”) and productions under license (“Game of Thrones “,” Blood Bowl “,” Tour de France “) upright.
Currently, nine games based on different technologies (Unity, Unreal and a proprietary technology) are being developed for all active platforms (PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch and mobile phones). Further details on the takeover can be found in the official press release.
