According to recent reports, in the case of “Anthem” Sony grants refunds of the purchase price under certain conditions. But that does not seem to be the case in all regions.
After “Fallout 76” was launched with massive problems, it hit BioWare’s “Anthem”. The Metascores are dependent on the platform between 57 and 65. The opinions of many players undercut these disappointing ratings again.
The condition of “Anthem” also seems to have moved Sony to give in. Reddit reports that the PS4 manufacturer has begun to offer refunds to players who have purchased “Anthem” as a digital version on the PlayStation Store.
PS4 turns off
It is addressed in a thread that addresses the technical issues of “Anthem”. A user emphasizes, for example, that he is sometimes thrown into the main menu of his PS4 in case of a game error or crash. And it got even worse: “But now, in the matchmaking attempt, my PS4 has completely turned off.”
Another user wrote: “It happened to me too. The worst thing is, when the console turns off, it’s like pulling the power plug out of the wall. The console needs to fix itself and my external hard drive. “Other players also commented that” Anthem “sometimes causes a complete shutdown of the PS4.
Refunds apparently possible
In the further course of the thread to “Anthem” then the digital refunds were addressed. Among other things, a user wrote: “Sony has started to offer refunds. I wish I had bought it digitally. “
“Sony knows the problem and offers a complete refund of Anthem without asking,” writes SoundAndFury87. “That did not take five minutes.”
However, the refunds do seem to be an isolated decision in the end: while some users report that Sony grants the refund, other players point out that they have received a refusal. A solid claim does not seem to exist.
BioWare is also busy making “Anthem” a better game. For the coming weeks, a roadmap was presented, which should make the game more rewarding for the customers.
