In conversation with colleagues from IGN, Game Director Josef Fares once again looked back at the work on “A Way Out”. As he elaborates, the cooperative adventure would have appeared almost exclusively for the Xbox One.
At the end of last month, the independent developers at Hazelight Studios released their latest project, A Way Out.
Talking to IGN colleagues, Game Director Josef Fares once again looked back on the collaborative adventure, revealing that “A Way Out” was almost exclusive to the Xbox One. In the end, there was only a week left until the signing of a contract, Fares said.
A Way Out: Would have appeared almost exclusively for the Xbox One
In the course of the interview, Fares praised especially Microsoft’s gaming boss Phil Spencer, who, according to Fares, “the best thing that could happen to Microsoft in the gaming sector”. According to Fares, it is above all the sincere passion for games that makes Spencer stand out and stands out pleasantly from many other executives of the big publishers.
But why did Fares decide to collaborate with Electronic Arts? The simple reason: The Hazelight Studios are based in Stockholm, Sweden. The same applies to EA’s DICE studio, which made collaboration and communication between EA and the Hazelight Studios much easier. On the other hand, if Fares lived in Seattle, it would no doubt have come to a collaboration with Microsoft.
“A Way Out” is available for the PC, the Xbox One and the PS4.
